01 · Start with the source
Entries link to judgments, orders, official case records and regulator publications. A regulator’s press release describes that body’s account; it is not a substitute for the underlying order. Where a full document has not been assessed, the summary stays within the identified source.
02 · Keep legal categories distinct
Allegations are attributed to the party making them. Findings are attributed to the deciding authority. A settlement is not automatically an admission; a procedural dismissal is not automatically a finding on the merits. An appeal’s dismissal does not necessarily erase the judgment below.
“Regulation by enforcement” describes a contested approach to policymaking, not a court disposition. Where relevant, we attribute that characterisation to its source and record the legal outcome separately.
03 · Define the boundaries
Every entry states the proceeding covered, the outcome date and any material limits. A ruling about particular transactions is not presented as a universal rule. Related criminal, civil, regulatory and private proceedings may end differently.
04 · Review before publication
Case suggestions and corrections can be emailed to our editorial contact. They do not appear automatically. A reviewer must verify identity and source provenance where relevant, check the summary against the record and confirm the scope, outcome, admissions and restrictions before including an entry.
These entries are source-backed summaries. CaseOutcomes does not claim that they have undergone independent legal review.
05 · Make corrections traceable
Readers can email the case name, disputed wording, proposed change and a public primary source. Accepted material changes will be dated and explained on the case page. A submission is a request for review, not a promise of publication or a guaranteed response time.

Include the case name, court or regulator, outcome date, public source links and a brief explanation. For corrections, identify the wording and proposed change.
Dates and source labels
The outcome date belongs to the legal proceeding. “Added” records publication on CaseOutcomes; “Last source-checked” records a documented check of the cited material, not continuing docket monitoring. Where a date is not recorded, we say so.
Citations beside a claim lead to its listed sources. Court records and agency publications are labelled separately. Party statements, when used, must be identified as that party’s account.

CaseOutcomes is a public website built for community contributions. Anyone can suggest a case, add a primary source or request a correction. Contributions are reviewed against the underlying record before they appear in the index. CaseOutcomes is not affiliated with any court or regulator.
The selection is illustrative and cross-sector, not exhaustive or statistically representative. No individual’s outcome should be inferred from another case. This website contains no paid placement.
